n/a is an architecture and design studio based in Copenhagen, Denmark, with a strong international focus. Rooted in Scandinavian culture, we approach design of all scales from a humanistic and pragmatic perspective, exclusively working with bio-based and recyclable building materials. Our design philosophy centers on functional aesthetics, user-oriented solutions, and a deep commitment to environmental stewardship. By investigating the past and understanding the present, we can sketch a sustainable future. This belief is encapsulated in our motto: "never boring / always biobased."

We are dedicated to sustainability and environmental responsibility. At our architectural studio, we exclusively work with bio-based and recyclable building materials. Our office features a curated collection of over 200 such materials, meticulously categorized to meet every construction need: foundation, primary and secondary structure, insulation, facade, wet room, interior finish, flooring, and acoustics.

Founded in 2019 by Alexandra Nikolova and Jonas Aarsø, n/a combines their extensive expertise and vision. Both hold Master of Science degrees in Architecture from Aalborg University, Denmark, and together bring 18 years of experience from some of the world's most renowned architecture and design offices.From their academic beginnings, Alexandra and Jonas have nurtured an appreciation for integrating technical, artistic, and humanistic aspects in the built environment. Their professional journeys have seen them perfect their skills at prestigious firms such as GRAFT, Buro Ole Scheeren, Barber & Osgerby, Heatherwick Studio, C.F. Møller, and Bjarke Ingels Group.

At n/a, we are dedicated to shaping a better world through thoughtful, sustainable, user-oriented and innovative design. We aim to lead the way in sustainable architecture by integrating renewable resources into every aspect of our designs. We strive to create beautiful, functional spaces that contribute to a circular economy. By innovating with bio-based materials and practices, we aim to inspire and set new standards in the industry, demonstrating that sustainable design can also be aesthetically exceptional.

For those looking to extend their current house or build a new one, Nikolova/Aarsø places the client's dreams, needs, and preferences at the center of the design process. We create user-oriented and unique homes that reflect individual visions.

- Concept, Schematic and Detailing –

n/a takes a project from the first sketch through the process of concretizing, defining and preparing it for any type of tender process. We advise and arrange the involvement of expert/sub-consultants needed to ensure the best process and result.

- Feasibility studies –

We know how important a proper due diligence is in any consideration of investments. n/a can assist in analysing the potential of a given site or early stage of land bidding.

- Collaborations –

We strongly believe that multidisciplinary teams are key in pushing boundaries and rethink any given task. n/a have collaborated with architect/engineering companies on several projects, and thrive in such dynamics.
